― Lao Tzu,
There is a saying that a writer needs to write about what they know, but what happens to your writing when it is one’s own self one wishes to know? I don’t think we can know ourselves without knowing the world, and we can’t know the world without knowing ourselves. Reality is a house of mirrors, a holographic distortion of our own self reflection.
“You do not write your life with words…You write it with actions. What you think is not important. It is only important what you do.”
― Patrick Ness,
I’m a writer. I write because it is my joy to exercise and express my mind through this incredible art form and even more to better understand my own self through my writing. It is techne and episteme, a form of semantic engineering, and an incomparable navigational tool all in one and it is one that can be shared with others. So, if you are inclined to engage in the sometime labyrinthian wanderings of my convoluted mind. I’m always learning more about this craft and trying to improve it and this blog is my newest adventure in this endeavor to share what I am doing and trying to learn.
I don’t think any of us can be fully known just through our words. In this place I hope you can see a shadow of me through my explorations in writing and a reflection of yourself where we meet somewhere between in the mysterious playground of the mind. An author commits to sharing in an intimate journey with their readers, without ever knowing who we share that path with. We get to explore together, both inwards into ourselves and outwards into the appearances of our externally projected reflections. Here we meet through words in our shared house of mirrors.
Thanks for joining me and happy trails.
